Synesthesia is the phenomenon where a sensory input, like sound, triggers another unrelated sensation, like color. And it's not just a fascinating neurological condition: I believe that nurturing a synesthetic mindset can be a powerful tool for out-of-the-box thinking and problem-solving.
On New Year's Eve I like to engage in a synesthetic exercise. I ask myself and those around me a simple question: ‘What color is the coming year?’
So now I extend this question to you. What is the color of the year 2024? This isn’t just whimsy. It’s an exercise to stimulate your mind, to think differently, to perceive time and our future in a new light.
Lots of short form content
The text above is the transcript of one of the latest short videos that I published online. It’s fun, and allows me to record thoughts in a manner that is lightweight, and streamlined.
I am planning to publish longer form content, still. Episodes of The Context, which are typically 15 minutes. Live conversations streaming for around an hour. And a four hour series is in the works, too, the audio version of my book Something New.
If you want to follow these shorter pieces, you can find them on the platform of your choice: LinkedIn, YouTube, X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Telegram, WhatsApp, Threads.
Happy New Year!
PS: How do you like the new leaner email format?
